Chapter five and six are great ways to help teachers to understand the Universal design for learning. Teachers now know ways that students learn. Recognition: how students gather info. Strategic: the way students perform. Affective: what keeps students enagaged. Chapter six specifically persuades teachers that differentiation is key.

It is really important for teachers to be aware of the UDL and the two different ways that students learn and gather info. differentiation makes teaching individualized and helps every student learn and be successful students. Differentiation was not a big thing when i was young i know. My teachers didn't differentiate and we all learned the same exact things in all the same ways. My teachers relied on other people who were resource teachers to pull those students out who were struggling or who needed more help. Nowadays Differentiation is done my the classroom teacher and it makes her teaching more valuable for all the students.
